Hey! Welcome to The Haven, a new deer roleplay. Right now the deer are only just arriving in Haven (haha, I love how close it is to heaven. xD), and the plot will start as soon as we have about 15 members. It's 1 account per person, so all your characters go on one account, easy to keep track of and all that stuff. Um...yeah. <3 Hope
you enjoy the site.
Updates! < - new 4.20.08 Yay! I'm back from vacation, and ready to be active once again. Thanks to everyone for remaining active while I was away. (: Any posts I have to reply to (I know I have a few) and anything I need to update/fix/put up/etc will be done as soon as I can. So... that's about it. S'good to be back.
By now, the snow has completely melted from the valley, leaving the rivers and lakes full and almost to the point of overflowing. The flowers are in full bloom, and rain is common. Thunderstorms are rare, but not unheard of.
It would seem that you have stumbled upon Emen, land of the deer. Unfortunately for you, this place will not be land of the deer much longer. Land of the dead would make a more fitting title. If you had come a few years sooner, you might have found a place full of green pastures and clear, blue lakes and rivers. But now all you'll find in Emen is blackened fields, burnt by the fire that suddenly invaded our world. Everywhere there are dried up rivers and lakes, those which previously offerred life, and now are only a source of death. The place that we once loved is now long gone, and I doubt it'll ever return. Our last choice was to flee, to find a place untouched by this fire. The valley we found is hidden behind a large mountain that would take days to climb, and where the mountain ends, there exists a forest dense enough to keep the worst of danger. Although, how it managed to keep out a huge fire that was engulfing everything in it's path is beyond me. As deer, we have never been original in naming things, and therefore we call this place Haven, as in Safe Haven. It's been a month now, and deer are still picking their way through the burnt countrysides to find Haven. Not many have survived, but the few that did will be enough to help us bring back the herd. And maybe eventualy all the plants burnt would grow back, and we could move back to our old land. But what do I know? I'm just Brenin, the foolish old storyteller.

This is the trail that takes you into Haven, as well as outside. It runs through the incredibly dense forest that exists between Haven and the rest of the deer world Edem. The path is hidden, but once found, it is the only entrance to Haven, besides the mountain, which is far too dangerous. Moderator: Calli
Melodic Waters is the main water source for deer of Haven. While each territory has it's own water source, chances are the water came directly (or indirectly) from Melodic Waters. The large lake has four small streams that flow out from it, which in turn split off and continue to branch, providing water for the entire valley. Moderator: Calli
Mount of Emen, or Mt. Emen as it is more commonly called, is the only mountain that exists in this world (which is the reason for it being named so). It makes up part of the 'wall' that hides Haven from the evil that has taken over this world. On the side facing Haven, it also contains many caves and caverns. Moderator: Calli
Occaisonally, there will be an instance where a mother cannot take care of her fawns. If this is the case, the fawns will be left here, abandoned if you will. It is a safe hollow, nothing dangerous for the little fawns. And, if they're lucky, another doe might come by, and adopt one. Moderator: Calli
This territory is set on the beach, the furthest point from the Haldor Division of Haven, as well as Alpha territory for the Avedis Division. This territory consists of a waterfall, connecting to the ocean bordering the beach, a lush green hill for grazing and breeding, and a cave sheltered by the waterfall for housing.
Linwood Forest is a small, uninhabited [by animals other than deer] forest that borders one side of Sandpiper Reef. It is a section of trees that continues to grow right out from the wall of trees, but Linwood Forest is not incredibly thick, and all the trees are a nice distance from eachother. On the southern side of the forest, though, it reaches the wall of trees, and the deer can't go any farther. The water source of the forest is a small stream the flows all the way from Melodic Waters.

Ephemeral Bliss: alpha territory of the newly-formed Yutre division. This territory exists in the center of the other five territories, providing easy access for any of the herds to find this Elder. Much of this land is a cool green field with a river that runs through it, eventually linking back to Melodic Waters. In the middle, though, is a sort of mini-forest, a collection of trees that provides shelter and shade for the deer that live here.
Golden Hues is a field that consists of grass and wheat. On the northern border is a group of trees, although there weren't nearly enough to call it a forest. There are various pools of water around this field, although none know where the water comes from. This territory borders the northeast side of Ephemeral Bliss.
Rivers of Silence was so named for the river that runs through it, continually branching out throughout the small meadow, and never making a noise as it flows. Due to the massive water supply, food is abundant in this territory, located to the southeast of Ephemeral Bliss.
Wavering Slopes is a territory set on a series of hills, and as a result there is no flat terrain here, save for the place where the river cuts through. It is also very rocky, and by the time it reaches where the territory touches the beach that leads to the ocean, is it is far too rocky to continue (which is why Yutre's division border stops at the beach). If one goes far enough to the right, they will reach Golden Hues, and to go southeast will bring you to Ephemeral Bliss.
Literally 'the view of the sea', The Seascape is located right next to the upper part of the Haven beach. Except that here, the beach is much too rocky to wander on, and therefore the territory stops where the beach starts. However, from anywhere on the territory, one can see this beach, and see the ocean. Occaisonally a deer will venture out, but most of them stick to the territory boundaries.

Crooked Rocks is nothing more than a huge pit in the shape of an oval. The sides are all steep, making it impossible to climb. At one point, though, it becomes less steep, forming a sort of ramp for the deer to climb in and out of. On the bottom of this pit there is only three things: sharp rocks, a mini waterfall (with nothing other than sharp rocks at the bottom), and some grass and berries, seeing as the deer have to eat. The water fall flows from a river that branches off from Melodic Waters (where almost all water in Haven comes from). Over all, Crooked Rocks is a dangerous place to be. Watch where you step, and be careful not to get on the bad side of the King.
Jagged Cliffs is a territory that exists under a group of cliffs that jut out from the side of Mt. Emen. If a deer can jump high enough, there is also enough room on the top for a couple deer. Below the cliff, there is also a cave that goes deep into the side of Mt. Emen, although not far enough to reach the other side. Jagged Cliffs is also the smallest territory in Haldor, only large enough to hold a small herd.

This Haldor territory exists on the edge of a small lake that is fed by a river coming directly from Melodic Waters. By the time it reaches the miniature lake, though, it is full of mud, thus the territory name.

Pandora's Drift is simply a gorge, but a huge one (in length, anyway) at that. Very little rain falls here, but there is a small river that runs through, enough to at least provide the horses a way to live. The gorge itself is narrow and rocky, just wide enough for five horses to pass through side-by-side. The bottom of this gorge is made up of a mixture of grass and rocks, although mostly the latter. On either side there are a few spare caves here and there.
Sandy Shadows is the land right next to Murky Waters, and is made up of mostly dirt and sand (the sand from the shore of the nearby lake). Few trees grow on this land, although bushes covered in berries are common.
